The hardest job in the world is service. Whether you’re a nurse or a teacher or a pop star. It’s all service work. And people who don’t understand how hard it is have no right to talk.

Sumeragi Hokuto, Tokyo Babylon

Hokuto says this to a prostitute she saves from being arrested, who then questions why Hokuto would want to help her, as she’s both a ‘gaijin’ and works at what’s essentially a brothel. The fact that this is part of her response, that she doesn’t see her occupation as being any different from any other public service job, speaks volumes for the type of person Hokuto is. She’s the type of person I like to be.
